Calendar - Jobs and Job Inventory
The primary method for scheduling Jobs in Deacom is handled via either the Job Calendar, Job Inventory Calendar, or Master Production Calendar (MPC). The Jobs and Jobs Inventory Calendars display a single box per Production Job and display the Job on a particular day on the calendar based on either the Job’s Planned Start date, Planned Finish date, or due date (original planned completion of job), depending on the selection made in the "Date Based On" field of the Calendar Selection pre-filter. Both calendars contain the same information, but the Job Inventory calendar uses color to display the inventory status of the Job. When allocating inventory to a Job on the calendar, the system will not allocate inventory that expires before the calendar date the Job is on. For information on setting up and using the calendar as well as how orders are displayed and scheduled, refer to the Scheduling Production Jobs Using the Job Calendar page.
Status color indicators (Job Inventory Calendar)
- Green - Inventory is on hand based on the Job scheduled before. This includes any material marked "At-Risk", however Expired lots are not factored. Additional information on At-Risk is available via Managing At-Risk Inventory.
- Yellow- Inventory is not on hand but valid plans exist for creating the necessary inventory by the Finished Good's Planned Start date.
- Note: When inventory required for a Job has been received and is in Pending QC, the Job Inventory calendar will show this inventory as yellow. Specifically, the system takes into account inventory that is sitting in QC and compensates for it using fi_date + pr_qclead.
- Orange - Inventory is not on hand for the lower level sub-assemblies needed for the Job, and Jobs to produce them do not exist or exist and are scheduled after the Finished Good Job.
- Red - Inventory is not on hand and no plan exists for creating the necessary inventory.
Below are some example scenarios and descriptions of how the system will color-code scheduled Jobs. Note: The “Over Issue” field, on the calendar pre-filter, may impact the color status of jobs depending on how the field is set.

General form layout
Once generated, the Job calendar form has three main sections.
- Toolbar - Contains buttons to change the view of the calendar, save changes made, print and view schedules, etc. These items are detailed in the Job Calendar form section below.
- List of Jobs available for scheduling - Including Job number, quantity, Facility, and Priority.
- Jobs display according to the "Job Sort 1-3" pick list selections made in Production Options.
- Jobs may be dragged and dropped to the desired date/time.
- Double clicking a Job in this section will open the detail in view mode.
- Calendar area used for scheduling - Days are listed, Monday-Sunday in either a weekly or monthly layout, depending on the "View" selected.
- Listed under each date are details regarding the Job quantity scheduled and available units (calculated as the "Units Per Day" value on the Calendar Selection pre-filter minus the Job quantity). These values will update depending on the calendar view (for example, if the user clicks "Next Week") and when Jobs are dropped onto or removed from the calendar.
- Orders scheduled on the calendar will block off a portion of the day. This "block" displays up to five lines of text, dictated by the "Job Field 1-5" pick list selections made in Production Options. The "Remaining" and "Finished" quantity fields available to the "Job Field 1-5" fields are useful to help properly schedule plant work on a daily basis.
- The "Monthly Job Field 1-3" fields, available via Production Options, may be used to dictate the information displayed on the calendar when "View" is set to "Monthly".
- Double clicking on a scheduled Job will open the Daily Job Calendar form, detailed in the Daily Job Calendar form section below.
